Experience Dodginghorse Ranch

DH Ranch promotes a greater respect and appreciation for culture, history, and understanding through the spirit of the horse.

We welcome everyone to escape into nature at the DH Ranch. It is situated on 25 acres of land, its natural landscape includes wide-open spaces, a natural forest which includes the Fish Creek. We offer our guests a chance to breathe in the fresh air, to unplug from social media to appreciate nature and its beauty. DH Ranch is located in the heart of the beautiful Tsuut'ina Nation. We offer unique programs through the Spirit of the Horse, which include Team Building for corporate, educators, and organizations, Birthday Parties, Indigenous and Diversity Awareness Education, Day Camps, and much more! We invite you to DH Ranch!

Who We Are

DH Ranch Equine Assisted Learning is owned and operated by Sonya Dodginghorse.

Sonya has a Bachelor of Education and committed her life as an Educator to support the academic and healthful development of Youth. She is currently a student at the Nechi Institute working towards an Indigenous Addictions counselor certificate.  Her goal is to develop tools and her knowledge with horses to help others on their healing journey. Sonya is also a professional Barrel Racer and raises awareness about the impacts of the Residential School system.  Sonya, her husband Brent, and daughter Cayda own the Dodginghorse Ranch. They also have many achievements in rodeo, knowledge of horses, and a sustained commitment to community which make the DH Ranch ideal partners to facilitate equine assisted learning to your clients.  DH Ranch recognizes that intergenerational knowledge, combined with equine assisted learning and horses can aid in healing, reduce anxiety, build confidence, and encourage participants to achieve excellence in other areas of their lives.
