We offer group programs at DH Ranch, including team building for corporations and organizations, birthday parties, retreats for men and women, indigenous and diversity awareness education, and day camps.

Our 120 acre property, located in the heart of the beautiful Tsuut'ina Nation, offers a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Surrounded by wide-open spaces and a natural forest, including Fish Creek, DH Ranch is the perfect place to unplug from technology and reconnect with nature. Our guests can breathe in the fresh air, take a leisurely walk, or even participate in one of our unique cultural programs.

DODGINGHORSE RANCH FOUNDATION
Dodginghorse Ranch Foundation is an Indigenous led nonprofit supporting Indigenous children and youth through land based, equine centered, and culturally grounded programs.
Our work builds confidence, leadership, healing, and cultural connection through Classroom in the Dirt, Rodeo Nights, Barrel Racing Mentorship, Indigenous Relay, Indigenous and Diversity Education, and Truth and Reconciliation in Action. Together, we are building strong Indigenous futures through culture, land, and horses.

Meet the Family

Sonya Dodginghorse
Sonya opened DH Ranch in 2021 after leaving the classroom. Sonya is a professional barrel racer and educator with over 20 years of experience. She created DH Ranch to give youth a space to learn, heal, and grow through culture, land, and horses. Her work blends Indigenous teachings, horsemanship, and trauma informed approaches, with a strong belief that horses are powerful teachers, healers, and messengers.
Brent Dodginghorse
Brent stepped away from Nation politics to join the ranch, bringing strong leadership and vision. He is an Indigenous diversity sports ambassador and consultant, a former professional hockey player, and now competes in Indian Relay. He is committed to creating opportunities for youth and building safe, grounded spaces through sport and culture.
Cayda Dodginghorse
Cayda is a student at MSU Northern, competing on the rodeo team while studying community psychology. A former AA hockey player, she brings a strong background in sport and leadership. She connects her studies to the work at DH Ranch, where youth build confidence, belonging, and resilience through real life experiences.
